The Albanese Labor Government has announced that Emergency and Food Relief providers in Tasmania will share in more than $2.6 million to help vulnerable Australians facing financial hardship.
Member for Lyons, Brian Mitchell MP said the additional funding will make a significant difference to the lives of people in the community impacted by natural disasters and financial crisis.
“Across Tasmania our providers are seeing increased demand for Emergency and Food Relief,” said Mr Mitchell.
“These are challenging times for our community and this much-needed support will help increase access to essential items, such as providing vouchers, food, and clothing parcels.”
“This additional funding will allow service providers to continue to deliver urgent support to those in the community who need it most.”
Further information, including how to find an Emergency Relief provider, is available on the Department of Social Services website.
