The 2021 Royal Hobart Regatta will be the 183rd anniversary of the first regatta in 1838. It will feature three days of continuous activity on the River Derwent and the Queens Domain.
The 7HOFM Riverfire fireworks display will again be on Sunday night - Sunday will be "People's Day" - and will also include the Trans Derwent Swim, power boats, keelboat racing, twilight keelboat race and evening concert.
Saturday is Kids and Family day. It starts with the 4th annual 2 bridges kayak race follows – a challenging 15km race to the Bowen Bridge and return. There’s a great activity and entertainment program, Makebelieve”Mrs Bee & the Jazz Bugzz”” leading the way, performances from the Musical Theatre Crew and a full program of song, dance and kids’ entertainment, and water activities such as the greasy pole and kayak sprints.
Sunday is “People’s Day” starting with the Trans Derwent Swim, the spectacular Power Boats, keelboat racing for the prestigious Sir Thomas Lipton Cup, Regatta Ambassador, a full entertainment program followed by more keelboat racing close-up at 6pm with the twilight race starting directly in front of the Regatta Ground. Then launching into the evening’s concert program leading into the 7HOFM "Riverfire" fireworks. Sideshows and rides continue into the evening.
Monday starts with a great rowing program, culminating with the famous Denis Mounie Championship Eights. It will also feature a full program of come-and-try activities on the water around the Regatta foreshore, with sideshows and rides running all day, along with a sailpast of Hobart's wooden boat fleet.
